Day 3

After breakfast at your hotel, you time to plan your day. St. Petersburg is known for its marvellous architecture, so much so that the whole city is deemed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can go for a full day tour of Hermitage or Catherine’s palace to marvel at the brilliant architecture,. Peterhof is also one of the most famous sites in this city, with the gardens and fountains spread massively across the campus. If exploring architectural feats is not your cup of tea, you could opt for a cruise to give you a completely different viewpoint of this city in the evening.

Day 4

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. Take the transfer from your hotel to train station to board High Speed Sapsan or Nevsky Express(depending on availability) to Moscow. On arrival at Moscow transfer to your hotel, check in to your room and spend rest of the day at leisure. All hotels have a check-in time of post 2 pm. Day 1&2

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Welcome to Europe!!!. Transfer to hotel and free time. You will receive information about the start of the circuit during the afternoon, or you can check the informative panels in the hotel reception area. Next day , start with an exciting visit to Russia’s huge capital city. This city unites past, present and future in a very unique way. We will go along their immense avenues, their elegant shopping areas, the Red Square where Lenin’s Mausoleum is, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour… We include a ticket to the Kremlim with a visit to two of its main cathedrals. We will try (not guaranteed) to coincide with the ceremonial military parade in Sobornaya Square.

Day 3

We will learn more about the history of Russia and its capital. We will pass by the university viewpoint, with its fantastic view over the city where newly married couples leave flowers (we could go to the viewpoint after Saturday’s visit instead of Sunday) and we will get to know (including entry) the Great Patriotic War Museum (World War II) that also shows us many aspects of the Soviet period.

Day 4

We leave Moscow early and travel towards VLADIMIR where we visit the majestic Cathedral of the Assumption that forms part of UNESCO’s World Heritage. Lunch included. We go on our way eastwards, stopping in the small town of GOROJOVETS, its walled Kremlin, its great views, its 17th century monastery, surroundings that seem to divert from time. We go on to NIZHNI NOVGOROD,the capital of the federal district of Volga, the fifth most populated city in Russia and the place where Maximo Gorki was born. We will stroll along the banks of the Volga; we will see the monumental staircase going up to the Kremlin and the monument that tells the story of the victims of the Second World War.

Day 5

We leave the busiest roads and divert to take a look at the world, large plains, fir forests, lakes en route, and villages of wooden houses. MAKARIEVO shows us its great 15th century monastery on the banks of the Volga, a beautiful place virtually inaccessible to tourism. We cross the river Volga by ferry (a crossing of around 20 minutes, cargo ferries to cross the river, in very limited conditions), lunch included. We continue to CHEBOKSARY, the capital of the Republic of Chuvashia, a beautiful and tidy city on the banks of the Volga. Its population speaks Chuvashian, a language of Turkish origin. The city will receive us with a small folkloric show (if the group is under 12 people, this show is not given).

Day 6

banner Checkout We leave for YOSKHAR - OLA, the capital of the Republic of Mari - El. Here the inhabitants, who lived for centuries in the forests, speak a very ancient language derived from Hungarian and Finnish. Its urban centre has been completely transformed in recent years, and is now one of incredible beauty. Lunch included. We go on to SVIJASCHK, an island on the Volga declared UNESCO World Heritage, inhabited in the times of Ivan the Terrible, and we will take a walk among its churches and its ancient wooden dwellings

Day 7&8

Full day in KAZAN, the Tartar capital and a city with just over a million inhabitants. We will visit the city centre in which the mosques rub shoulders with the Orthodox churches. We will also see the house of Lenin (only on the outside, as it is closed on Mondays), a pleasant early 20th-century traditional dacha. Depart with beautiful memories of the trp to Russia.

The gallery bears the name of its founder, Pavel Tretyakov, who presented his collection to the city of Moscow in 1892. Now the museum holds more than 50,000 works of paintings, art and sculpture. Later we proceed to St. Petersburg.

Day 4

Today we visit the Hermitage Museum – one of the largest and oldest museums in the world, Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Isaacs Cathedral, enjoy a photo stop at the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood and Statue of Peter the Great. Later we enjoy souvenir shopping, Today evening, we enjoy the Russian Ballet show.

Day 5

Today we enjoy the scenic Neva River Boat Ride and then visit Catherine Palace – the summer residence of Russian Tsars at Pushkin. In the evening we enjoy the Russian Folklore show.

Day 6

Day 1

Arrival at Moscow airport. Meet the driver waiting for you at arrivals with name placard. Transfer to the hotel by car/van. Rest of the day is free at leisure to explore the city on your own.

Day 2

Depart for a city tour of Moscow with stops at the most famous sights: Poklonnaya Hill, New Maiden Convent, Vorobievy Hills. Drive by Tverskaya Street, Manezhnaya square, Ohotny Riad, Bolshoy theatre, Lubianka square, Savior Cathedral, the Kremlin and Kropotkinskaya embankments (no entrances). Later proceed to Red Square & Kremlin tour: territory and famous cathedrals.

Day 3

Arrive in St. Petersburg; meet your guide for transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure to explore on your own.

Day 4

Depart for a city tour of St. Petersburg with stops at the most famous sights: spit of the Basil Island, St. Isaac's Cathedral, and Palace Square, Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, the Aurora, and other. Drive by Nevsky prospect, the Neva embankments, Isaac’s square, Arts square (no entrances). Visit the famous Peter & Paul’s Fortress where the burial site of Tsars & Russian Royal Family takes place.

Day 5

Depart for a tour around famous Hermitage museum located in the magnificent Winter Palace: the second largest art museums in the world, it was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures and artwork and started the grand collection. Nowadays its collection fits masterpieces from all over the world from Egyptian antiquities to Renaissance, from ancient Greece to Dutch Golden Age and many more.

Day 6

Check out and transfer to the airport by car/van/minibus (no guide). Board your flight & return home with happy memories!
