rome Tour Packages

Rome, named the ‘Eternal City’ more than 2000 years ago, is still one of the most popular tourist destinations of the world. A holiday in Rome has the power to take you back in time. The  Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, all stand testimony of the greatness of the Roman Empire. The city is filled with churches rich in Baroque and Renaissance art which are a treat  for anyone who appreciates beauty. Just hanging out at iconic landmarks like the Piazza Navona- Rome’s historic and lively square,  the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps is itself an experience. Ofcourse, Rome tour packages are incomplete without a visit to the holy Vatican City, where you can find masterpieces of art and sculpture.  In addition to the above, the mild climate and the amazing food make Rome holidays extremely attractive to all. What is the best time to visit Rome? September to November, and April and May are the would be the best time for a trip to Rome as the weather is pleasant , the days are bright and sunny and the crowds thinner. Even winters are a good time for sightseeing as it does not get too cold. Summers are the peak tourist season, and can get crowded. What is the ideal duration for Rome trip? Although it is easy to spend weeks exploring the ancient lanes, churches and absorbing the vibe of the city, a 4 day Rome holiday package will allow you to experience the best of the city.  You will need a longer time if you intend to  take some day- long Rome excursions to neighbouring areas like Pompeii, Tuscany or Amalfi Coast. How much does it cost to holiday in Rome? The cost of 4 day Rome holiday package can be estimated at Rs 12,000 per person per day onwards for accommodation, local transport and sightseeing. Meals would cost at least Rs 2500 per person per day. Day trips out of Rome begin at Rs 8,000 per person. What are the top attractions in Rome? The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, Palatine Hill,  are some of the top Rome attractions. In the Vatican, St Peter’s basilica, the Sistine Chapel, and the Raphael rooms draw huge crowds. However, just spending time at the Piazza Navona, eating Gelato on the Spanish steps, throwing a coin in the Trevi fountain are some of tourists’  favourite things to do in Rome. What are the top items in Rome cuisine? Creamy Rigatoni Carbonara, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, Pizza al Taglio, artichokes – deep fried or stewed, Saltimbocca a la Romana are some authentic Roman dishes. However, a trip to Rome is incomplete without having a breakfast of maritozzo – a sweet bread roll with coffee and scoops of real gelato while wandering the ancient streets. What is the best way to get around in Rome? A holiday in Rome is best enjoyed on foot. Most of the landmarks and attractions are clustered together and are at walkable distance. However, buses, metro  and trams are the best way to travel from one part of the city to another. Taxis can also be booked or taken from the taxi stands. Driving around is not recommended as parking is not very convenient. What is the best way to reach Rome? Although it is said ‘All roads lead to Rome’, you would be better off arriving by air or train. People going for Rome Holidays from India generally take a direct flight to Rome, which also serves as a starting point for many Italian or even European vacations. The Leonardo express runs between the airport and Termini, the main train station in the city. Termini also receives many trains from all over Europe. Is Rome safe for women and kids Rome is quite a safe city, but there might be some incidences of pickpocketing, especially in crowded buses. During the visit you'll explore shops, factories and watch the skilled glass-blowers as they create works of art. You'll also have time to visit a museum showcasing the world-famous Murano glass. Re-board your motor boat you'll journey to the island of Burano to admire picturesque fishermen's houses painted in bright pastel colors, and, of course, the famous lace. You can visit a museum dedicated to the craft of lace, and purchase the beautiful lace at local shops. The last island stop is Torcello, the earliest center of civilization in the Venetian lagoon. You'll see the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in the 7th century, and the excavated remains of the circular baptistery in the church of Santa Fosca. Next day , its time to depart with happy memories.
