A summer retreat for the female members of the then royal family, the palace is an iconic landmark of Jaipur today. Next, move to another imperial edifice of the city – City Palace. Built between 1729 and 1732, the palace is a sprawling spread of courtyards, gardens, and buildings. Still home to the descendants of Jaipur’s last ruling family, you can explore the interesting display of royal items in its in-house museum

Day 3

Transfer to Udaipur and Sightseeing - Post breakfast, take a seven-hour drive to Udaipur. On arrival, complete the check-in formalities and rest for a while. Later, head to Eklingi Temple for a mystical experience. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this double-storey temple is a testimony of the brilliant architectural style that existed in the past. Originally built in the 8th century by Bappa Rawal, the temple has a long story of existence

Udaipur Sightseeing - Your first stop for the day, City Palace is a sight to behold. Built by the contribution of 22 different rulers between the 16th and 20th century, the palace is an artistic marvel. It stands at the edge of Lake Pichola and offers some surreal views of the lake to get soaked in. The in-house museum has many items on display – Paintings, royal utensils, and decorative furniture are some. Flowing at the periphery of the palace, Lake Pichola is your next stop for the day

Day 5

JODHPUR - After breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur, visiting places like the Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada. Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that's now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborated royal palanquins (sedan chairs). Set on a rocky outcrop, the fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted in the city's iconic shade of blue

JODHPUR - UDAIPUR VIA RANAKPUR ( 300 KM / APPROX. 6 HOURS DRIVE ) - After breakfast, proceed to Udaipur, en route visit the Ranakpur Jain Temple. Ranakpur Jain Temple excels as an exquisite work of art and architecture. The temple was built by a wealthy Jain businessman named Dharma Shah under the patronage of the liberal and gifted Rajput monarch Rana Kumbha the King of Udaipur in the 15th century

UDAIPUR - After breakfast, proceed to explore the City Palace and Saheliyon Ki Bari. Built by the Sisodia clan in 1559, the City palace in Udaipur is a complex of various buildings that has been fortified over the period of 400 years. The palace displays musical instruments, various clothing items, paintings and other such antiques which were used by the Royal family

DEPART UDAIPUR - Today, bid farewell to your 'Folklands and Forts of Rajasthan' tour, as you are transferred to the airport / railway station in Udaipur, for your onward journey.

We then visit City Palace, located on the banks of Lake Pichola and one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan. Built by Maharana Udai Singh, it is the largest palace complex of Rajasthan. In here, we will also visit Dilkush Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Mahal and Krishna Villas

Udaipur to Pushkar (280 kms / 5 hours) - Have a fill at breakfast, pack your bags and check out from the hotel. Today we drive to Pushkar which will take about 5 hours. Arrive & check in to the hotel. Pushkar is renowned world over as one of the most pious city. It is believed that Pushkar was the place where Lord Brahma’s lotus fell on earth. The famous Pushkar Lake is considered to have one of the most holy waters

Day 4

Pushkar to Jaipur (130 kms / 2 hours) - Capture the spirit of Rajasthan at Chokhi Dhani, a unique village restaurant that ensures a perfect Rajasthani experience. Jaipur - Full Day Sightseeing Tour - Have your breakfast at hotel in the morning. Today we go on a full day sightseeing tour of Jaipur. We visit Amber Fort (on elephant back), the pride of Jaipur built by Raja Man Singh in 16th century. Next we visit City Palace- city’s major landmark, Jantar Mantar- the largest stone astronomical observatory, Jal Mahal- a beautiful Mughal-Rajput style palace located in the center of Man Sagar Lake and Hawa Mahal, Jaipur’s grandstand. Return to hotel. Rest of the day is free that will be best spent in some local shopping

Jodhpur - This morning after breakfast proceed for city tour of Jodhpur. Visit the Meherangarh Fort.
