Day 3

Today proceed on a guided city tour of Cairo. See the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, as well as the Sphinx, carved from the natural bedrock at the bottom of the causeway to Khafre’s pyramid. Later visit an Egyptian Perfumery, before proceeding to the Egyptian Museum, which houses over 1,00,000 antiquities from every period of ancient Egyptian history. Do not miss the gallery featuring the famous treasures of Tutankhamun. Another highlight of this Museum is the Royal Mummies Room, which houses the mummies of many great Egyptian rulers, including Ramses II, the builder of the temples at Abu Simbel. Overnight in Cairo. Day 4&5

Today we take a flight to Aswan. On arrival, we take a luxurious and legendary Nile River Cruise for a great three-day cruise on the scenic Nile River. Overnight onboard the Nile River Cruise. (B, L, D). Next day we proceed to visit Abu Simbel by coach (3.30 am departure) to view the two magnificent temples, carved into a mountainside and built during the reign of Pharaoh Pamesses II. These temples were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser, due to the construction of the High Dam. We return to Aswan and visit the High Dam of Aswan, the pride of Egypt with its panoramic view. We then board our cruise for lunch and sail on to Kom Ombo to visit the famous Temple of Kom Ombo .Overnight on board the Nile River Cruise. (B, L, D)

Day 7

Today, we disembark from the cruise and visit the West Bank of Luxor. We proceed deep into the desert to discover the Valley of Kings - where generations of pharaohs and nobles were buried in great splendour. We then explore the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s only woman Pharaoh. Later visit the Karnak Temple Complex, known as Ipet-isu (or ‘most select of places’) to the ancient Egyptians. Later proceed to visit the Souks, or the local markets, and the larger bazaars those are among the most remarkable attractions of Egypt. Located behind and around the Temple of Luxor, Sharia el-Souq was converted into a charming, covered pedestrian zone.Later, check into your hotel in Luxor for the night. (B, L, D)

A quick visit to papyrus institute or a perfume shop can be arranged after the visit.Lunch at an Indian restaurant then start afternoon visit to the Egyptian Museum for another tour. Today enjoy a box breakfast and later proceed to the airport for your flight to Aswan. After which we proceed to the Cruise centre to board the luxurious cruise liner – The Nile River Cruise. Enjoy breakfast on board the cruise. Of all the temples of ancient Egypt, the one at Edfu is not only the best preserved, but the second largest after Karnak. Dedicated to Horus, it was built in the Ptolemaic period. This temple is unusual in that it is on the west bank of the river which was normally dedicated to the afterlife. Next, enjoy the sights of the Nile River from the deck, as your Nile River Cruise sails to Luxor via the Esna Lock. On arrival in Luxor, we visit the famous Temple of Luxor. There is magic in the tombs of the great Kings with their imposing architecture and marvelous paintings. Even after over 5,000 years, the paintings retain their original colors and tell the story of civilization gone by. Overnight on board the Nile River Cruise. (B, L, D)

Today we finish our cruise and go to visit the West Bank of Luxor. We proceed deep into the desert to discover the Valley of Kings - where generations of pharaohs and nobles were buried in great splendour. After that comes a visit the Karnak Temple Complex, known as Ipet-isu (or ‘most select of places’) to the ancient Egyptians. Located behind and around the Temple of Luxor, Sharia el-Souq was converted into a charming, yet unauthentic, covered pedestrian zone. For a more authentic experience, however, continue north onto Sharia Ahmos where the local Luxor souk is located and where these pictures were taken. We cross the Nile early this morning to begin our tour of Luxor's West Bank, home to the Valley of the Kings. Our tour includes several of these Pharaonic tombs, as well as the temples of Queen Hatchepsut and Medinat Habu, and the huge Colossi of Memnon. Your afternoon is then free to relax and enjoy the facilities of your 5-star hotel on the banks of the Nile. You can also explore Luxor further, do some shopping or browsing in the market, visit the mummification museum or enjoy a felucca trip to nearby Banana Island. our morning is free today and you can enjoy a welcome lie in after several early starts. After lunch we'll tour the huge temple complex at Karnak, once the religious centre of Thebes and Upper Egypt. It was linked to Luxor by an extensive avenue, lined with sphinxes .Later this evening we transfer to the station for the overnight sleeper train back to Cairo (approx. 9 hours). A spectacular hot air balloon flight over the west bank of the Nile is available this morning (expect an early start to catch sunrise as the balloon rises). Day 5

We arrive back into Cairo this morning and transfer to our hotel. In the late afternoon we take a guided walk through the back streets and bazaars in central Cairo. We'll walk through the huge Bab al-Futuh gateway and explore streets dedicated to metalwork, spices, pottery, fabric, jewelery and anything else you can imagine as we gradually enter the more touristy Khan-el-Khalili bazaar. Finally we visit the evening Al Guri Sufi show at the Wikalat al Ghuri, a 16th centry market place with a domed roof and some beautiful Islamic architecture. Overnight Cairo Meal: Breakfast

Next day trip to Alexandria, we visit the Citadel of Qaitbay which is situated at the entrance of the eastern harbour on the eastern point of the Pharos Island.. Later we proceed to visit Bibliotheca Alexandrina which is a major library and cultural center & the Al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque which is an Egyptian mosque in the city of Alexandria. Day 7

During today’s guided city tour of Cairo you will see the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, as well as the Sphinx, carved from the natural bedrock at the bottom of the causeway to Khafre’s pyramid. Thereafter we visit an Egyptian Perfumery, before proceeding to the Egyptian Museum, which houses over 1,00,000 antiquities from every period of ancient Egyptian history. Do not miss the gallery featuring the famous treasures of Tutankhamun. Another highlight of this Museum is the Royal Mummies Room, which houses the mummies of many great Egyptian rulers, including Ramses II, the builder of the temples at Abu Simbel. Overnight in Cairo. Day 8

Day 1&2

On arrival in Cairo, you be greeted by your friendly Thomas Cook tour manager / local representative outside the baggage hall. Proceed and check in to your conveniently located Hotel (Standard Check-in time is 1400hrs). This evening, enjoy Sound and light show. Tonight enjoy a sumptuous dinner at a local Indian restaurant. Overnight Stay in Hotel, Cairo . Next day After American breakfast at your hotel, proceed to Alexandria. See the Catacombs of Kon-El-Shokafa, Pompey’s Pillar, and the Montazah Gradens. Today enjoy a sumptuous lunch. Transfer back to Cairo and enjoy dinner at a local Indian restaurant . Overnight Stay in Hotel Cairo .

Day 3&4

After an American breakfast at your hotel, we depart on a guided tour of this ancient capital city.Enjoy the sights and sounds of the ancient capital city-Cairo. Live the experience of the land of the pharaohs. Visit the mysterious Sphinx. Later Visit the Egyptian Museum and Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. Tonight enjoy a sumptuous Indian dinner at a local restaurant. Next day enjoy a box breakfast and later proceed to the airport for your flight to Aswan. Proceed to Abu Simbel Visit the massive Abu Simbel temples - A UNESCO world heritage site. Proceed to Aswan – one of the most beautiful cities of Egypt. Get set for the time of your life as you board your luxurious Nile River cruise.. Enjoy the delicious ‘welcome aboard’ buffet dinner consisting of cuisines from various part of the World. overnight on board cruise .

Day 5

Enjoy breakfast on board the cruise. We then visit the temple of Philae dedicated to Goddess Isis and then enjoy a guided city tour visiting the High Dam – one of the outstanding architectural achievements of the twentieth century. Later in the day, we proceed to visit the famous ‘Temple of Two Gods’. Dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris, the crocodile gods, this temple was constructed during the Roman era and is noted for the engravings on the walls in Kom Ombo. Enjoy meals on board the cruise.Overnight stay on cruise .

Day 6

After a delicious breakfast onboard the cruise, we sail to Edfu town situated on the west bank of the river Nile. On arrival, we proceed to the famous Edfu temple dedicated to God Horus, represented by the Falcon. This is one of the most beautiful Egyptian temples distinguished by its huge splendid structure that blends Pharoic and Greek architecture. Enjoy the sights of the Nile River from the deck, as your Nile Cruise sails to Luxor via the Esna Lock. Enjoy meals on board the cruise. After a day of fun, board the cruise for a good night sleep in your cosy cabin. Enjoy the meals on board the cruise.

Day 7

After a delicious breakfast onboard the cruise, we visit the famous tombs in the Valley of Kings and also see the temple of Hatshepsut. We then proceed to the Colossi of Memnon, which are the ruins of the funerary tomb of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only queen who ruled Egypt. Enjoy Lunch. Further proceed to visit Karnak and Luxor Temples. Proceed and check in to your conveniently located Hotel in Luxor and later enjoy dinner at a local Indian restaurant. Overnight Stay in Hotel Luxor.

Day 8

After breakfast, bid good-bye to all the friends you made on the Tour. After checking out from the Hotel, proceed to the airport, where your memorable Thomas Cook tour of Egypt comes to an end.
